Bench Fashion Week ushers in Spring/Summer with love, introspection, and a whole lot of fun. Featuring a spectrum of looks, from naturally dewy skin to abstract, graphic, and bold makeup. Whether you’re grooving to music on the streets or playing under the summer sun, BFW Spring/Summer 2024 calls for new makeup trends.

Minimalist Romance: Dewy Skin, Potent Highlighters

Dewy skin is in as we welcome Spring/Summer. Embodying a cottagecore vibe, dewy skin manifests as a natural look in Gabbie Sarena’s “Tanan” collection.

To complement the delicate, intricate, and flowing pieces, this look focuses on a luminous glow with minimalist makeup, featuring a radiant bride ready to elope for love. Meanwhile, Joey Samson presented dewy skin with an otherworldly feel in his “Secret Garden” collection.

With little to no pigment, the radiant makeup look is achieved with potent highlighters on facial features, particularly around the nose and eyes.

Eye Focus: Graphic Liners, Bold Statements

In Le Ngok by Carla Zhang and Human’s collections, graphic eye makeup commanded the audience’s attention. In Le Ngok’s “There’s Nothing Wrong,” the lower lash line was adorned with white pigment, adding dramatic flair to the models’ expressions.

At Human, graffiti art inspired the makeup looks, featuring bold, vibrant eyeshadows with graphic liner designs ranging from watery eyes to sharp wings.

Dark Rebellion: Full, Bold, Sensual Lips

Bench’s Spring/Summer collections complemented the retro vibe of the makeup with vintage red lips paired with pinup hairstyles.

From 1950s diners to the beach, the classic bold red lip is timeless. Matching its boldness, Le Ngok featured dark lips. Paired with a more subdued eye makeup look, all attention was drawn to the lips, effectively conveying the collection’s emotions.
