Incorporate a dedicated skincare regimen at least one month prior to your graduation ceremony. The transformative effects of brightening, pore-minimizing, and the reduction of dark spots and fine lines become truly apparent after 2 to 3 weeks of consistent use.

One recommended product line to consider is Nahma Beauty skincare, which is BPOM-approved and Halal-certified, offering everything from facial treatments and serums to body lotion.

Thoroughly cleanse your face. If you haven’t had time for a month-long routine, don’t worry. Simply wash your face with a non-drying facial cleanser, followed by a toner or rosewater. For morning or daytime ceremonies, you can also apply sunscreen after your toner. This will prep your skin for makeup application.

Apply a Primer. Primer is essential for achieving long-lasting, budge-proof makeup and also provides crucial hydration.

Next, apply Foundation or a Base. This step is vital for evening out your skin tone and concealing pores and dark spots. Select a foundation that perfectly matches your complexion. If you find traditional foundation too heavy as a base, consider alternatives like a cushion compact or BB cream.

Follow with Concealer, which is designed to address specific skin concerns such as blemishes, hyperpigmentation, and scarring, while further evening out skin tone. Apply sparingly to targeted areas. For dark under-eye circles, gently pat concealer beneath the eyes.

Sculpt Your Face with Bronzer. Apply strategically to areas like the perimeter of your face, cheekbones, and along the sides of your nose to add dimension. Ensure the shade is not too dark or starkly contrasted with your foundation.

Set with Powder to blend and create a natural gradient with your bronzer. Powder also enhances makeup longevity, blurs fine lines, and contributes to a perfected finish. You can opt for loose powder, translucent powder, pressed powder, or other formulations. Choose a powder that suits your needs and skin tone.

Add Blush or a Cheek Tint to bring color and life to your complexion. Typically, blush is applied to the apples of the cheeks. You can also lightly dust it across the bridge of your nose and temples.

Apply Highlighter after blush. As the name suggests, highlighter accentuates the skin, creating a luminous, glowing effect when it catches the light. Apply highlighter to the high points of your face, including the brow bone, bridge of the nose, cupid’s bow, and the tops of your cheekbones.

Proceed to Eye Makeup. Once your base makeup is complete, move on to eye artistry, which includes defining your brows, applying false lashes if desired, eyeshadow for your lids, and eyeliner to enhance your lash line. For brows, shape them according to your preferred style and ensure the shade complements your overall makeup. Follow with eyeshadow that harmonizes with your chosen color palette, and finish with eyeliner.

Finally, apply Lipstick. The right lip color can elevate your entire makeup look. Before application, use a lip balm to ensure your lips are hydrated and smooth. Then, select your preferred lip product, whether it’s a liptint, lip cream, or lip gloss.

What to do for your graduation makeup?

  • Use a lightweight foundation that matches your skin tone perfectly.
  • Apply a primer to ensure your makeup has maximum longevity.
  • Focus on the eye area with neutral eyeshadow and a delicate eyeliner.
  • Pay attention to your eye makeup, selecting eyeshadow that complements your theme or graduation gown.
  • Choose a lipstick shade that harmonizes with your attire, skin tone, and overall makeup, ensuring it’s long-wearing.

What to avoid during graduation makeup application?

  • Overly bold or vibrant colors on eye makeup.
  • Lipsticks that are excessively glossy, wet, or shimmery.
  • Excessive use of bronzer or contouring on the face.
  • Avoid lipsticks that are too dark or too light in shade.

And there you have it – the correct makeup sequence for beginners. Feel free to customize it based on your specific needs and desired look.
